Morphine - Cure For Pain (1993)

Morphine's first album, in 1993 : "Cure For Pain".
This sounds like a perfect mix of blues/rock and jazz. The band uses instrument like a 2-string bass (a 4 string normal bass without the 2 higher strings) and a (sometime unusally "bluesy") tenor-saxophone, giving its music this particular style that made the band worldwide touring during the middle 90's.
Mark Sandman, the band's leader and singer, died on stage in 1999.
